To Begin...
Go to the get budtobud page and download budtobud for your device. Once that’s complete, double-click the file that you downloaded and initiate the installation process. Let the installer walk you through the process.
Register
Once the app is installed, budtobud will launch automatically and the registration window will appear. You’re first option will be to register using Facebook – this simplifies the process by using your Facebook information to create your budtobud profile. Alternatively, you can register by completing the short registration form. Note that certain fields are required and that your budtobud system username is your email address and cannot be changed once you’ve registered. Other fields can be edited later. If you already have an account, click on “Already have a budtobud account? and login.
Login and listen to music...
To play music for your friends...
1. select iTunes, Spotify or Rdio from Music Source and play a song– DJ mode will be automatically set for you
2. find a Buddy in the Partyers folder and click Invite to Listen
To listen to a DJ…
1. select Buddies from Music Source – Party mode will be set automatically for you
2. find a Buddy in the DJ's folder and click Ask to Listen
Add/Invite Buddies
After you’re registered and logged in, the system will set you up with three Test Buddies so you can start partying right away. Use them to try the different tools budtobud offers.
To make your friends Buddies on budtobud, clik the buddy with a + icon before your username or select Add/Invite Buddies under Buddies in the top menu. Then simply enter the name, email or budtobud nickname of your friend in the Add/Invite Buddies box and click Search. When the system finds them, click the checkbox next to their information and click Add/Invite to send them a Buddy request. When they accept, they’ll be addedd to your Buddies.
You can also use Facebook to add Buddies. Click on the Facebook icon in the Add/Invite Buddies window and your Facebook friends and whether they are using budtobud or not will be displayed. If budtobud icon appears by their name, you can check the box and click Add/Invite to send them a Buddy request. If there is no budtobud icon you can send them an invitation to join budtobud by checking the box next to their names and clicking Add/Invite.
You can also invite friends to join budtobud by entering up to three email addresses at a time and clicking Add/Invite.
Party & Get Social
Buddies that are online will appear in the partyers or DJ’s tabs depending on their mode. If they are in DJ mode you can see what they are listening to and Ask to Listen. If you’d like to change modes, simply click on the small icons next to your avatar – you’ll switch modes immediately. Remember that the maximum party size is five – one DJ and up to four partyers.
Check Out What’s Going On
You can see the most popular and frequently played songs for yourself and for your Buddies by viewing their Profile. Clicking their avatar or budtobud nickname will open the Profile window. It’s a great place to explore and buy music that you or your friends have listened to.
